London- A Photographic Journey Book - by Jay Mitchell

The city of London is one of the most visited places in the world, with its iconic architecture and historical sights that fill the skyline. This gives the city one of the most recognisable landscapes, with Big Ben and Parliament along the Thames and The London Eye giving you the chance to see London up high and take in the cosmopolitan, metropolis. Visit the markets, where you will find all kinds of food, fashion and flower stalls mixed with antiques, art and artefacts to fill your bags. The city with a huge heart and a richly diverse culture, with modern 21st century buildings and malls and yet you can find yourself in parts of London where feel you have stepped back in time.

The book visits some of London's most beautiful areas and iconic places that the city is world renowned for, from a unique and often intriguing perspective. London is always changing and playing host to the Olympics in 2012 has played its part in the city's transformation with new stadiums and malls, sat beside architecture hundreds of years old. The only way to really see the city is by jumping on the tube for a few stops, or chasing the bus to make good time to see the sights as you get wrapped up in the buzz of London.

Cuba - A Photographic Journey Book - by Jay Mitchell

Jay Mitchell is the photographer and author of the new book `Cuba - A Photographic Journey'. In 2010 Jay took time out from working and living in an often chaotic London to take a journey across Cuba. This is a photographic journey through places in Cuba with the stunningly colourful buildings, the old American cars, Flamingos in Cayo Coco and landscapes that stretch out across the beautiful island of Cuba. People go about their daily life in Cuba with a smile as bright as the sunshine that falls across Cuba. The places visited in the book are, Havana, Ciénaga de Zapata, Cienfuegos, Camagüey, Playa Santa Lucía, Bayamo, El Cobre, Santiago de Cuba, Baracoa, Guantánamo, Guardalavca, Holguín, Caya Coco, Morón, Trinidad, Santa Clara, Varadero, Pinar del Rio and Vinales.

On reflection my trip across Cuba has been a long road trip with nearly 5000 kilometres covered in that time and over 20 key places in Cuba visited along the way and without doubt Cubans are very considerate and helpful, which makes you feel and at home here.

Cuba - A Photographic Journey Endorsements:

`Jay Mitchell is that rare combination of born traveller and great photographer. His book on Cuba captures all the excitement and dedication of his journey while providing a multi-faceted portrait of the island, with all its exuberant and decayed architecture, seductive landscapes, passion for life, and love of the bizarre.'

Michael Jacobs - Author

`A colourful journey with a photographic look at travelling through Cuba. Jay has unique personal narratives, anecdotes and stories which accompany his images of his journey through Cuba. He has captured people living in Cuba and what you are likely see when travelling through this beautiful country with his photos of Cuban life, vibrant colourful buildings, American cars and wildlife become one in his journey.'

Ranulph Fiennes - Explorer

Many of those I have met travelling say the same thing `I am here before it changes into one great big MacDonald's!' and I really hope this doesn't happen, but as a realist I know that commercialism will change Cuba but it's the people that make this country what it is, with the stunning landscapes, colourful buildings and old vehicles that take to the roads. South America - A Photographic Journey Book - by Jay Mitchell

In 2008 Jay Mitchell took time out from working and living in London to take a journey through South America, from Buenos Aires in Argentina to Cartagena in Colombia, it would be 6 months before he reached his goal. This book is a photographic journey through some of the most amazing landscapes, animal life, plant life and outstanding ancient ruins from previous cultures seen anywhere on the planet.

My premise when writing the book was to move away from a very wordy type of guide to something a lot more photographic, where you are able to make plans of wanting to visit a place I have photographed, revisit memories of when you have been there yourself or revel in what South America has to offer in its beauty.

He has also had the book endorsed by Sir Ranulph Fiennes arguably one of the greatest explorers of our time, he wrote:

‘A refreshing look at a journey through South America with a blend of beautiful photographs taking you from end to end of South America with unique personal narratives, anecdotes and stories which accompany the images of this journey. Jay has captured the essence of South America and what you are likely see when travelling through this beautiful continent, where cultures, vibrant colours and wildlife become one in his journey.’  Sir Ranulph Fiennes Bt, OBE, The World’s Greatest Living Explorer
